This patient’s post-op recovery is a lot harder than he ever expected.

A Scottish dad says he is in agony after an operation gave him a permanent erection — turning him into a veritable shut-in too embarrassed to go outdoors.

Glazier James Scott, 57, told the Daily Record that he first had surgery two years ago after suffering serious groin injuries in an accident at work in Glasgow.

It left him unable to get erect — with follow-up surgery to put metal rods in his manhood leaving him with a stiffer problem.

“I’ve now got a permanent erection and I’m in agony,” he told the Scottish paper.

“I can’t bear anything to touch it. I can’t even wear clothes. It’s a nightmare.”

He said he feels like a prisoner in his own home — and is too embarrassed to have his 9-year-old daughter over to visit him.

“I was told it would be sore for about six to eight weeks after but I never expected anything like this,” he told the paper.

Scott complained that his doctor’s office was refusing to send someone to his house to help, claiming that no male doctors were available.

The office, Tollcross Medical Centre, told the paper it could not discuss the case directly because of patient confidentiality.

“In general terms, severe post-operative complications are most appropriately managed by the specialists, in hospital and the safest option is for hospital assessment,” a spokesperson told the paper.

A local spokesperson for the National Health Service also suggested anyone who “experiences adverse symptoms after an operation” should call a telephone advice line the service offers in Scotland.
