The former interior minister of Afghanistan claims that Taliban militants have been killing children and the elderly as they seek to rule the country by terrorizing its people.
“Taliban are trying to rule over people by terrorizing, killing young children and elderly citizens,” Masoud Andarabi said in a tweet, alongside shocking images of a baby and a young child who were allegedly killed by the insurgents.
“In Andarab, Taliban have been carrying out unwarranted searches of homes, capturing people without reason or justification and killing innocent citizens. As a result, people have had to rise against their brutality to protect their lives, honor, dignity and property,” he added.
Andarabi said in a tweet that the Taliban are killing children and the elderly in an attempt to incite fear in the Afghan people. MARCUS YAM/LOS ANGELES TIMES/ShuAndarabi was dismissed in March by now-former President Ashraf Ghani amid a spate of attacks against the country’s security forces.

Taliban officials have stated that any evacuations past August 31, 2021, will be seen as “crossing a red line.” APThe Taliban went on to topple the government on Aug. 14, sparking a deadly scramble by Afghans to flee the war-torn country.
