Former football star Vernon Davis is accused of hurling books and magazines at a pregnant ex during an argument over an abortion last year, according to a new report.

The heated argument erupted on May 31 in the ex-49er’s home, where Davis and his ex were talking about her pregnancy, a criminal complaint obtained by TMZ Sports claimed.

The woman says the 41-year-old “was hitting me w/ magazines + books from under his TV,” and that the athlete offered to pay her $10,000, the outlet reported.

The alleged abuse only ended when the unnamed woman pulled out her phone to record him, the report said.

Several days later, Davis allegedly slapped the woman across the face when she accused him of lying to her and warned her “not to question him,” TMZ reported.

She recorded a conversation later in the night, during which the football player denied any abuse, allegedly stating: “If I really slapped you, your face would be blue/black.”

TMZ did not go into detail regarding the argument or whether one party was pushing to terminate the pregnancy.

A warrant for Davis’s arrest was issued on Jan. 8 for assault and battery, the same day the complaint was filed. He has a court date set for February.

The woman claimed the Super Bowl champ had a history of domestic violence with her and had left her with visible bruises in prior altercations.

There is an open strangulation and assault case tied to an argument between the two, which took place in the days before the May 31 attack, before the woman found out she was pregnant, the report obtained by TMZ Sports claims.

A source close to Davis told TMZ that he was “taking the allegations seriously.”

A lawyer for the former footballer did not immediately respond to The California Post’s request for comment.
Davis played for San Francisco, Denver and Washington throughout his career. He was on the Broncos when the team clinched the Super Bowl 50 win.

He retired from the NFL in 2020.
