A former high school volleyball coach in Texas has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl more than 20 years ago, police said.

Anthony Clark, 45, was charged Monday with three counts of sexual assault of a child under 17 after the victim told police in January of their alleged sexual encounters between September 1999 and February 2000 in Grapevine, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

“He convinced me that’s what I wanted to do,” the woman told a detective, according to the warrant.

Clark, who was 25 at the time, met the teen while coaching volleyball at Carroll High School. She was a student at a nearby school and kept three detailed journals of the alleged sex acts between the pair, including one meet-up in February 2000 in the coach’s car during which the “windows actually fogged,” according to a warrant obtained by the newspaper.

Days later, while Clark’s parents were out of town, the coach drove her to his parents’ home in Grapevine, where they performed more sex acts on each other, the warrant states.

“Anyway, things went far, like to the possible extent,” she wrote in her journal, according to the warrant. “There was so much to say that said and done that nite.”

Clark also allegedly sexually assaulted the girl in November 1999 at her parents’ Grapevine home. She wrote at the time that no other man had previously shown her so much interest, the warrant states.

In late February 2000, Clark and the girl met up for one of their last encounters, which included her performing oral sex on the coach at Lakeview Park in Grapevine, the warrant states.

No other victims have come forward, but any parent who believes their child may have been targeted by Clark should contact local authorities, Grapevine police said.

Clark, who was no longer employed at any school as of Monday, last worked for White Settlement Independent School District in 2019. He coached volleyball for the Lewisville Independent School District during the alleged offenses, according to the Star-Telegram.

Clark was booked into the Tarrant County Jail on $75,000 bond. He was no longer listed in custody as of Wednesday, records show. It’s unclear if he’s hired an attorney.
