He went from Zero to hero.

A black Labrador named Zero saved the day when the pooch thwarted a porch pirate from stealing a Utah family’s package.

Home surveillance footage captured the 9-year-old dog bolting for the crook after he ran up to the house in Ogden, picked up a package and fled to a waiting getaway car last week.

“I just kind of yelled, ‘Get ’em, Zero! Get ’em!” the canine’s owner, Whitney Cahoon, told FOX13.

When Zero ran after the bandit, the man threw the package out onto the road before fleeing in the car.

“He just went for it, it was awesome!” Cahoon said of her crime-fighting dog. “I’m hoping that the word spreads from [the thieves] not to mess with us.”

Ironically, Cahoon noted that Zero is typically something of a scaredy-cat.

She described the dog as “just a Lab that’s scared of everyone and everything,” adding, “I mean dusters, plastic bags, the cats … he’s terrified of the cats.”

Had the crook made off with the package, he might have been disappointed that it contained a $4 dimmer switch from Ikea.
