An Ohio family vacationing at Disney World is still recovering after they narrowly avoided being struck by bullets that tore through their Florida rental home as a man was shot outside.

Fourteen members of the Reddy family were tucked away in the Kissimmee Airbnb around 1:30 a.m. Sunday when they were shocked awake by loud noises, Kelleen Reddy told FOX35.

“Just the horrific sound of what to us was just like fireworks right outside of your house,” Reddy recalled.

They quickly realized it was bullets tearing through the home — leaving holes in the bedposts, walls and even in their car parked outside, photos showed.

“I mean, it was pure shock of just sitting in the bathroom shaking, and at that moment, you didn’t know if the bullets were coming into our house,” Reddy told WFTV.

“Every room had been hit. It was just terrifying,” she said — including a bedroom where her 2-year-old child was sleeping.

Reddy estimated that at least nine rounds were shot into the house.

The Reddys were in Florida for a week-long birthday celebration at Disney World.

A few hours before the shooting, they heard a raucous house party going at the house next door, Reddy said.

They decided to sleep upstairs, just in case.

A man standing outside was shot when the blasts went off, but he was expected to recover, FOX35 said.

He was not part of the Reddys’ group.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

“I would love to arrest those involved,” Sheriff Marcos Lopez said. “Those kind of reckless and careless acts are not tolerated.”

The Reddy family left their rental a day early, and Airbnb gave them a full refund.

“You work so hard to plan a nice trip for your family and this is how it ends,” Kelleen Reddy lamented.

The shooting appears to have happened at a rental home that was not rented through Airbnb, the company told FOX35.
