ISIS fighters are now wearing Darth Vader masks to protect themselves in battle, according to reports.
A pre-dawn raid conducted by Turkish police this week revealed the “Star Wars”-gear — a stash of plastic, black face covers in a house used by extremists in the city of Diyarbakir, according to the International Business Times.
The ISIS militants were apparently using the villainous Vader masks to protect their eyes from shrapnel, the IBTimes reported.
Two officers were killed during the operation and five others were wounded after an explosive-filled booby-trap was triggered nearby, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.
A total of 15 suspected terrorists were detained during the raid, which was the first time Turkish authorities had clashed with the Islamic State inside the country since military officials launched an air attack against members in neighboring Syria in July.
Authorities also found a massive weapons arsenal during their search last week, which also turned up ammunition and secret documents.
A few of the jihadists were also said to be wearing the masks during the police raid on Monday, according to the Turkish daily newspaper, Haberturk.
