A married father of two was charged Saturday with helping to dismember a dead body after police in central England found suitcases containing a woman’s torso.

Mahesh Sorathiya, 38, who lives near Birmingham with his wife and two teenage children, is accused of helping alleged murderer Gareeca Conita Gordon, 27, to dismember the unidentified dead woman’s body, The Sun reported.

Police said the grisly crime took place at a property in Birmingham that they said looked “like an abattoir.” A source close to the investigation told The Sun, “It was like a bloodbath.”

Officials found the remains near a quarry in a park after a neighbor reported a suspicious vehicle.

Neighbors in the cul-de-sac where Sorathiya lives were shocked to learn of the arrest of the tradesman, who they described as a quiet family man.

“It’s so shocking,” Tesman Raju said. “They are a lovely family. I never had a bad word to say about them.”
