Federal investigators said Monday evening that they had finished with their search of the Florida home of the parents of Brian Laundrie, a “person of interest” in the disappearance of Long Island native Gabby Petito.

Authorities on Sunday discovered the remains of someone they believe to be Petito in Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest. A conclusive ID and cause of death have yet to be announced.
The FBI announced that it has finished searching Laundrie’s house. TwitterPetito, 22, vanished on a cross-country van trip with Laundrie, her 23-year-old boyfriend. He returned to his parents’ home in the van without Petito on Sept. 1 — then vanished himself last week.
