A masked robber is causing quite the scare in Virginia.
A serial stickup artist has terrorized a half-dozen gas stations near Richmond over the last year while wearing the distinctive mask from Wes Craven’s slasher-film franchise “Scream” — leading investigators to dub him the “Scream Bandit.”
The FBI is now offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the robber’s arrest.
The first known stick-up in the violent crime spree occurred on Jan. 19, 2019, when the bandit flashed his semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from a BP gas station clerk.
The clerk complied, filling the robber’s bag, and he then made off with the money.
The robber attempted to hold up a Speedway Gas Station in North Chesterfield the following month, but fled when it didn’t go to plan. When the clerk followed him into the parking lot, he fired at the worker, the FBI said in a wanted poster.
Most recently, the “Scream Bandit robbed a Goldy’s gas station in Richmond on Jan. 26. He pushed one of the clerks before moving behind the counter — flipping the register over to snatch extra cash hidden underneath, the FBI alleges.
Cops describe the suspect as a black male in his 20s. He’s estimated to stand between 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 and weigh between 160 to 180 pounds.
The outlaw has been seen also wearing all black clothing with black or blue gloves.
