The US Food and Drug Administration approved Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose COVID-19 vaccine Saturday.
The greenlight brings to three the number of vaccines available to fight the deadly coronavirus.
The approval came a day after an expert advisory panel signed off on the new vaccine.
The one dose was found to be 85 percent protective against the most severe COVID-19 illness, in a massive study.
Shipments of the vaccine are could start as early as Monday.
