The campaign of intimidation against Coptic churches in Egypt has Christians here concerned that trouble might find them, too.

Priests and parishioners said NYPD officers have been stationed outside some local Coptic churches in the past few weeks — a welcome sight amid the religious clashes overseas.

“We’re concerned. But at the same time, we’re prayerful and hopeful that these things will cease soon, and peace and stability will be restored to Egypt,’’ said the Rev. Michael Sorial, pastor of St. Mary & St. Antonios Coptic Orthodox Church in Ridgewood, Queens.

Although there have been no reports of a Coptic backlash in the Big Apple, he and local worshippers said they are on edge about their brothers and sisters back home in Egypt.

“In the United States, there’s a great deal of fear for their families,” Sorial said.

He added that local churches didn’t ask for the police security, but appreciate it.
