Federal agents arrested the fifth suspect on Wednesday linked to an alleged ISIS-inspired terror plot for a Halloween massacre in Detroit, officials said.
Ayob Nasser, 19, of Dearborn, Michigan, was taken into custody and charged with conspiring to provide material to support ISIS as he and four others allegedly planned a “Pumpkin Day attack” meant to copy the 2015 Paris ISIS attack.
He is the third suspect arrested in connection with the alleged terror plot after police nabbed fellow Dearborn residents Mohmed Ali and Majed Mahmoud earlier this week.
Law enforcement sources said that the NYPD’s Intelligence Unit investigated the case along with the FBI.

Prosecutors list Ali, 20, as one of the main co-conspirators planning the Halloween night shooting, with the Dearborn resident assigned to carry out the attack along with one of the other suspects, according to the criminal complaint.
Following the attack, the rest of the group would then make their way to join ISIS in Syria, officials said.
But before Ali and his associates could carry out the alleged terror attack, authorities raided their homes and a storage unit rented by Ali in nearby Inkster.

Ali, specifically, had videos on his Instagram account of the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York City and the hijackers who perpetrated it, according to the complaint.
The suspects also had material relating to several mass shootings and terrorist attacks, including the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, Columbine, and even the 2019 Christchurch mosque shooting in New Zealand.

Along with supporting ISIS, the Michigan suspects were charged with possession of “firearms that would be used to commit an act of terrorism on behalf of ISIS.”
