This is one heck of a high-wire act.

German fire crews scrambled Sunday to rescue as many as 100 passengers stuck several stories up on a stalled gondola that runs over the Rhine River in Cologne.

Officials said 32 cars — carrying up to 100 people, including children — were stalled because one car crashed into a support beam.

Dramatic photos showed rescuers climbing on the tiny cable bars and precariously lowering riders by rope. One image showed a man clinging to a child as the pair was lowered to safety.

Workers were also using a mobile crane to bring down some passengers, witnesses said.

No injuries were reported.
