A suburban Chicago man who held firearms training classes accidentally shot and killed his wife while cleaning his gun — then turned the weapon on himself, according to police.

Simeon Hendrickson, 61, was working on one of his guns at his home on Dalton Lane in Bollingbrook on Saturday afternoon when it accidentally discharged and the bullet struck his wife, Laurie Hendrickson, 60, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

“Simeon Hendrickson then took his own life with the handgun,” police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, while his wife died at a local hospital, cops added.

It was unclear if Simeone called 911, or if one of his neighbors heard the gunfire and called for help, ABC 7 reported.
