STAMFORD, Conn. — A former Connecticut firefighter who sold cocaine at the firehouse while on duty has been sentenced to three years in prison.

The Advocate reports 46-year-old Mark Monroe was sentenced Thursday in Stamford to three years in jail followed by 10 years of special parole. Monroe pleaded guilty in December to selling crack cocaine four times to undercover officers.

Police say Monroe sold cocaine to an undercover officer on four occasions, including twice at a Norwalk fire station. Investigators say they found cocaine at Monroe’s home, along with numerous prescription drugs and a loaded pistol.

Monroe’s attorney says his client takes full responsibility for his actions.
