A fisherman had one halibut time reeling in this whopper!

Erik Axner spent more than an hour battling the 7-foot, 224-pound halibut off the coast of Norway — but the fish was too huge to fit in his boat.

So Axner, 24, of Sweden, did the next best thing to commemorate his slimy prize — he jumped into the freezing water to pose alongside it.

“After we took some photos, we released the fish to fight another day,” he told reporters.

Axner’s fish is practically a guppy compared with the largest halibut caught with a rod: a 511-pound sea monster captured by German angler Marco Liebenow about two years ago.
