A Florida woman was arrested for allegedly shooting another woman to death — all while livestreaming the fatal fight on social media, police said.
Savon Tyler, 35, was charged with premeditated first-degree murder for allegedly opening fire on Lauren Martin, 34, during a “mutual-combat style fist fight” that was streamed online Tuesday night, according to Sanford Police, which said it has copies of the footage.
“Both Lauren and Tyler engaged in a verbal altercation, which then escalated to a physical altercation. During the altercation, Tyler shot Lauren multiple times,” police said.
Lauren Martin, 34, was killed in a violent fight that was livestreamed on social media on Tuesday. Family handoutMartin’s family told WESH that she was a photographer and the two were arguing about pictures Martin took of Tyler.
“Someone went online and made a comment… then another person went online and made a comment just back and forth and spiraled out of control from there,” according to the victim’s aunt, Jessica Burks.
According to court records obtained by the outlet, when Tyler saw Martin arrive at her home she armed herself with a “children’s miniature baseball bat” and a “9mm sky handgun.”
The two women beat each other in what police called a “mutual-combat style fist fight” before the shooting, with Martin found lying in the road with multiple gunshot wounds.
Sanford police said officers responded to a shooting just after 7 p.m. and discovered Martin lying on the road with multiple gunshot wounds.
She was taken to a local hospital where she died from her injuries, police said.
Savon Tyler, 35, was charged with premeditated first-degree murder. Seminole County Sheriffs OfficeTyler was taken into custody without incident.
She was charged with premeditated first-degree murder and is being held at the Seminole County Jail with no bond.
