A California fitness trainer claimed she’s “not racist” after a bizarre meltdown where she allegedly threw scalding coffee on a Latino worker and hurled racist insults.
The incident caught on video reportedly showed Rhonda Polon verbally attacking a contractor Aug. 4 at an upscale condo in Century City, news station KTLA reported.
“She was calling us wetbacks, and that we were probably there to steal stuff,” Miguel Sanchez told KTLA. “After all those racial comments on us, I got my phone out and started recording.”
In the viral footage, Polon tossed hot coffee on Sanchez and told him to “get out of my f–king face.”
Sanchez told police that she accused his coworker and him of trespassing even though they were there to perform repairs.
“There’s a lady being super racist and crazy right now,” Sanchez said in the video. “She doesn’t let us in. We work here.”
Polon, a fitness studio owner, said she was concerned because of recent burglaries at the complex, according to the Daily Mail.
She denied making racial comments but said she regretted the incident and was “sorry for throwing the coffee.”
“I’m not a racist,” Polon said. “None of those things have ever come out of my mouth. I may have a temper at some points, but I am not a racist person.”
