A Florida man was arrested Monday night for allegedly setting his girlfriend on fire, a report said.

Noe Jimenez-Cortes is accused of dousing his girlfriend with an accelerant and igniting her with a cigarette early Monday morning, CBS12 reported, citing authorities.

The victim, who is in critical condition, told responding deputies that Jimenez-Cortes intentionally set her on fire, the report said.

The boyfriend fled the scene but was arrested Monday night. Charges against him are pending.
