Eleven Fort Bliss soldiers were injured — two critically — after ingesting an unknown substance on Thursday, authorities said.

Officials with the Texas base are investigating the incident, which occurred during a field training exercise, according to a statement.

All soldiers involved are under medical observation, officials said.
