A Fort Bragg paratrooper was killed this week during a training exercise at a Georgia base, officials said.
The soldier, who was not identified, had been undergoing jumping training Wednesday at Fort Stewart, which is about 45 miles southwest of Savannah, Stars and Stripes reported.
“It is with a heavy Airborne heart that we announce the death of one of our Paratroopers in a training accident,” Lt. Col. Mike Burns said.
Further details about the soldier’s death weren’t released.
The Army member was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division’s 3rd Brigade Combat team at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
