France’s “yellow vest” protesters are still seeing red.
Several thousand of them tried to breathe life into their anti-government campaign in their first demonstration of the new year.
About 3,500 marchers clashed with police in Paris as they renewed calls for French President Emmanuel Macron to resign.
That’s a steep decline from the first demos, which saw tens of thousands of protesters throughout the country toward the end of last year.
A river-boat restaurant, motorcycles and a car were set on fire Saturday. Cops used clubs to thwart protestors who tried to cross a bridge off the sanctioned marching route.
Police and protestors sparred in other cities, with tear gas deployed in Bordeaux and Normandy.
