Two Israeli doctors have contracted the Omicron variant of COVID-19 — even after being fully vaccinated and receiving their booster shots.

The doctors had each received their double-dose of the Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine plus a follow-up booster, according to a rep for the Sheba Medical Center outside Tel Aviv, Reuters reported.

One doctor had recently returned from a conference in London, according to the hospital, which said it was likely he infected his colleague.

The pair were reportedly experiencing mild COVID symptoms Tuesday.

The infections come just days after Israel shut its borders to foreigners, instituting a two-week ban Saturday.

Other new emergency measures related to Omicron require Israeli citizens returning home from some African nations to quarantine.
