California Gov. Gavin Newsom will quarantine for 10 days after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19, his office said Sunday night.

The staffer came into contact with Newsom and a few other colleagues, Newsom’s office said in a statement to KGO.

Newsom tested negative for the coronavirus on Sunday and is expected to be tested again in the coming days, his office said.

The governor’s office said Newsom will “continue to follow state and CDC guidelines.”

Newsom quarantined for 14 days last month after three of his children were exposed to a California Highway Patrol officer who was diagnosed with the coronavirus.
