The oldest living former president refuses to stay down for long.
Two weeks after falling at his summer home and breaking a bone in his neck, George H.W. Bush was up and smiling again.
The former president, 91, tweeted a photo of himself Thursday sitting in a neck brace, flashing a smile and a double thumbs-up.
“Who knew jumping out of planes was safer than getting out of bed?” he said — referencing that time he jumped out of a plane to celebrate his 90th birthday.
Bush was released from the Maine Medical Center four days after falling at home in Kennebunkport, Maine.
Doctors reported that Bush didn’t suffer from nerve damage, and said the injury would take three-to-four months to fully recover.
Bush was hospitalized in December as a precaution after experiencing shortness of breath.
