Former President George H.W. Bush has been released from a hospital in Maine after receiving treatment for low blood pressure, family spokesman Jim McGrath said on Monday.

​”The president is deeply appreciative both for the terrific care and the many good wishes he has received​,” McGrath wrote on Twitter. ​

Bush, 93, was taken to Southern Maine Health Care on May 27 shortly after he arrived at Kennebunkport, ​the coastal Maine town ​where the Bush family spends the summer months.

Bush, the father of former President George W. Bush, was also hospitalized in Houston for an infection in April a day after his wife of ​73 years, Barbara Bush, was buried.

Last Friday, Bush tweeted a photo of himself in the Maine hospital reading a book about his marriage.
