Former President George H.W. Bush has been released from a hospital in Maine after receiving treatment for low blood pressure, family spokesman Jim McGrath said on Monday.
”The president is deeply appreciative both for the terrific care and the many good wishes he has received,” McGrath wrote on Twitter.
Bush, 93, was taken to Southern Maine Health Care on May 27 shortly after he arrived at Kennebunkport, the coastal Maine town where the Bush family spends the summer months.
Bush, the father of former President George W. Bush, was also hospitalized in Houston for an infection in April a day after his wife of 73 years, Barbara Bush, was buried.
Last Friday, Bush tweeted a photo of himself in the Maine hospital reading a book about his marriage.
”Enjoying a great book and a wonderful walk down memory lane this morning,” he posted. “Yet another reminder of just how lucky I have been in life. Very proud of the author and co-author too. More at: https://www.greatamericanlovestory.com”
