George Zimmerman is broke – with $2.5 million in debt and no source of income.

The ex-neighborhood watch volunteer who fatally shot a black teen in Florida in 2012, filed paperwork in Seminole County court this week detailing his finances so he could request getting a public defender in a stalking case, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

A judge granted his request for a public defender, and that lawyer, Blaise Trettis, filed a not-guilty plea in the case.

Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges in the Martin killing after arguing he shot the 17-year-old in self-defense.
