A 101-year-old woman made a daring escape from her senior home in Germany so that she could see her daughter, according to a report.

The centenarian, who was “missing her daughter terribly,” crept out of an emergency exit but then got lost trying to find the younger woman’s suburban home, police in the town of Brunswick said, according to the Agence France-Presse.

Before returning the unidentified woman to the senior home, police in the northern German town let her see her daughter — from the safety of the patrol car’s window because of social-distancing measures.

Germany has been under nationwide lockdown for more than two weeks, with senior homes closed to visitors to protect the vulnerable inhabitants, AFP said.

Last week, Brunswick prosecutors confirmed they were investigating an old people’s home in Wolfsburg, after 22 people died there following coronavirus infections, the report says.

Germany had confirmed almost 110,500 COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday, with more than 2,100 deaths, John Hopkins University data shows.
