The jail conditions faced by Ghislaine Maxwell are so inhumane they would violate standards set by the United Nations, the family of Jeffrey Epstein’s accused madame has claimed.

“Under the United Nations Standard Minimal Rules adopted in 2015 for the treatment of prisoners – ‘The Nelson Mandela Rules’ – to which the US is a party, Ghislaine ‘has been subjected to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment,'” an account run by Maxwell’s family posted on Twitter.

The British socialite is being held in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center on sex-trafficking charges for allegedly procuring underage girls for the multimillionaire pedophile to abuse.

The account, @RealGhislaine, is linked to a website launched by Maxwell’s family and friends — created with the aim of providing people with “a more balanced viewpoint” of the accused Epstein accomplice.

Maxwell’s brother, Ian Maxwell, previously said in a video on the site that his sister’s treatment is “cruel and usual.”

“It’s torture, it’s wrong,” he said.

Maxwell, who is under an “enhanced security schedule,” has also repeatedly complained through her lawyer about her treatment while in the Brooklyn jail since her July 2020 arrest.

Maxwell’s attorney in April wrote that there was a “pervasive stench of sewage in Ms. Maxwell’s unit” because of a broken sewage system, though prosecutors claim she doesn’t flush her toilet after using it.

On Wednesday, Maxwell was denied bail for the fifth time pending trial.
