The Girl Scouts are not happy that the Boy Scouts are trying to steal their girls.
The organization was blindsided by the Boy Scouts’ decision to admit both genders, and are firing back with an aggressive recruitment campaign of its own.
“Girl Scouts is the premier leadership-development organization for girls,” said Sylvia Acevedo, the organization’s CEO. “We are, and will remain, the first choice for girls and parents who want to provide their girls opportunities to build new skills . . . and grow into happy, successful, civically engaged adults.”
To better compete, the Girl Scouts say they will be creating new merit badges and focusing on outdoor activities and career planning.
