WASHINGTON — Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus is asking Republican presidential candidates to pledge allegiance to the party.
“Our candidates should pledge not to run as a third-party candidate,” Priebus said on NBC’s “Today” show.
“I think everyone understands that if Hillary Clinton is going to get beat, she’s going to get beat by a Republican and most people that run for president, run to win.”
The message seemed aimed at Donald Trump, who has raised the possibility of running as an independent.
