NEWNAN, Ga. — Authorities in Georgia say a gun-toting 78-year-old woman chased two burglars from her home.

Coweta County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Col. James Yarbrough tells news outlets Elaine Stiehl was getting ready to take a nap when she heard a noise coming from the front of her house. Deputies say Stiehl loaded a pistol and found two men inside her home.

Yarbrough says the suspects, 44-year-old Thomas Linder and 32-year-old John O’Neal, ran outside and got into an SUV driven by 49-year-old Anne Dearman. Deputies were able to find the three suspects traveling on Interstate 85 and charged them with burglary.

Investigators say they found two guns inside the vehicle as well as an assortment of power tools and fur coats. It’s unclear whether the suspects have attorneys.
