Haitian migrants continued to stream into the US overnight — despite U.S. promises that they will be quickly expelled and flown home — with dramatic images capturing the darkened crossing over the Rio Grande River into Texas.
Many carried children and whatever belongings they could hold as they trekked through the murky water.

The Haitian migrants have trudged through water with backbacks and their kids. REUTERSThey were among 10,000 migrants who have already arrived and are currently camped out underneath the International Bridge which connects Del Rio, Texas, with Ciudad Acuna, Mexico.
President Biden has vowed to deport the Haitians. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency flights are expected to begin on Sunday, with as many as five to eight flights a day shuttling migrants out of the country. An administration official added that all migrants would also be tested for Covid-19, the Associated Press reported.
