Hurricane Harvey slammed the coast of Texas near the town of Rockport on Friday night, causing buildings to crumble against 130 mile-per-hour winds.
Rockport city manager Kevin Carruth said multiple people have been taken to the county’s jail for assessment and treatment after the roof of a senior housing complex collapsed.
“People are trapped inside at least one collapsed building,” Carruth told KIII-TV. “We can’t get rescue teams to them right now.”
KIII-TV reports that 10 people have been treated in Rockport since Hurricane Harvey slammed into the Gulf Coast city Friday night.
The station also reported that a local high school had been damaged.
