Heart-pounding video shows a man almost getting mowed down by a speeding train — with only a last-second hop saving his life.

The footage posted by British Transport Police shows the unidentified pedestrian break through a safety barrier in London to save a few seconds in crossing the tracks.

He starts walking nonchalantly, only slightly quickening his pace as he sees the train barreling toward him — his final step saving his life as the train misses him by mere inches.

“It really isn’t worth taking a risk like this in order to save a few minutes,” said the UK railway line’s community safety manager, Rebecca Crocker.

“Just a trip or fall and this could have ended very differently,” she said of the “reckless behavior in which this person could easily have lost their life.”

British Transport Police said it was still investigating the incident from 6 a.m. May 5 in Enfield.

“The warning signs, barriers and flashing lights are all there for a reason,” Inspector Stephen Webster said.

“This incident could have very easily gone the other way.”
