A New Jersey toddler who nearly drowned in a backyard pool was revived by a pair of fast-acting cops in a dramatic rescue captured on police body camera footage.

Police were called to the Newark home on Sunday afternoon moments after the 2-year-old girl became tangled in an inflatable pool toy and could not lift her head out of the water, WABC reported.

Officers Shaquille Johnson and Malikul Aziz of the Newark Police Department responded to the call and were at the home on Third Avenue East in about 90 seconds, according to the news outlet.

As soon as the officers arrived, they were met on the street outside by the child’s frantic father, who carried his struggling daughter to them.

“He came straight to us, and within a second of getting out of the vehicle, the child was in my arms,” Johnson told WABC. “We flipped her over onto her stomach, onto my knee and began to apply back taps to the child.”

During the rescue operation, the little girl can be seen in the footage choking and struggling to breathe.

“Everything came out all over my arms, his arms — but she was fine, so that’s the important thing,” Johnson said.

Aziz added: “Not only was it a breath for her, it was a breath for us as well, too, where we could say, ‘OK, she’s in stable condition, she’s going to make it.’”

The child was briefly hospitalized before being reunited with her family back home.

Her father hailed the officers as heroes for performing the life-saving techniques.

“It’s something that just happened in a quick second,” the father told WABC. “And it’s really difficult for me — it’s the moment why I can’t even sleep just thinking of what happened.”

“Never take your eyes off your kids,” he said.

According to the news outlet, a family friend had been watching the child splash around in the 24-inch-deep water before she flipped over in the pool while his back was turned.
