A local Manhattan man is missing on the Appalachian Trail, officials said Monday.
Brett Sposito, 49, of Harlem was reported missing by his wife Sunday, cops said.
Sposito is an avid hiker who makes a two-week trip from Sheffield, Mass., to Mount Washington, NH, every year, sources said.
He last had contact with his wife May 28 around 12:30 p.m. near Dalton, Mass., and has not been heard from since, according to police.
Search-and-rescue efforts by park rangers and Massachusetts authorities are under way, officials said.
