Hillary Clinton tried to score some progressive political points Monday by joining a rally in Manhattan where Gov. Cuomo signed the state’s new $15-an-hour minimum wage into law.

“We owe the governor a huge debt of gratitude,” Clinton told a crowd of about 500 at the Javits Center. “I also really appreciate that what the governor did shows the way to getting an increased minimum wage at the federal level.”

But Clinton didn’t mention that she supports only a $12 wage nationally, while endorsing $15 in New York and Los Angeles.

John Albanese, a member of Laborers International Union Local 78, said the dual positions made her “hypocritical.”

“I honestly think Hillary lies too much,” Albanese said. “She was just here to make it look good for her candidacy.”

He said he’s voting for Bernie Sanders in the April 19 New York primary.

The $15 minimum takes effect in New York City in 2018 and elsewhere in the state later.
