A 30-year-old Honduran man died in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody after getting sick at a Houston detention facility, the agency said Monday.

Yimi Alexis Balderramos-Torres was found unresponsive at the Houston Contract Detention Facility early Sunday and died in a local hospital, ICE said.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Balderramos-Torres was apprehended by Border Patrol agents during a traffic stop on May 27 — 10 days after he was found illegally in El Paso and sent back to Mexico, ICE said.

He was transferred to ICE agents June 6 and sent to the Houston detention facility near George Bush Intercontinental Airport on June 18.

“Comprehensive medical care is provided from the moment detainees arrive and throughout the entirety of their stay,” the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, said in a statement, according to NBC News.

“All ICE detainees receive medical, dental and mental health intake screening within 12 hours of arriving at each detention facility, a full health assessment within 14 days of entering ICE custody or arrival at a facility, and access to daily sick call and 24-hour emergency care.”

Balderramos-Torres is the sixth person to die in ICE custody since October, the DHS said.
