Houston, we have a problem – a gorilla!

NASA astronaut Scott Kelly went ape aboard the International Space Station, popping out of a box and chasing fellow-space jockeys around dressed as a mini-King Kong.

His brother, retired astronaut Mark Kelly, launched the extraterrestrial monkey business when he sent Scott a care package containing the suit.

Mark tweeted a video of the prancing primate with the hashtag #ApeInSpace.

“Um, @StationCDRKelly, I thought you said you had things under control up there on @Space_Station?” Mark tweeted.

On Monday, Scott tweeted: “#Countdown Let’s take this 16 sunsets at a time. 8 days to go tomorrow!”

He joined the space station on March 27, 2015, and is scheduled to return to Earth on March 1, according to NASA.

He will hold the US record for the most cumulative days spent in space – 520.
