India is planning to land a spacecraft on the moon in September, which would make it only the fourth country to make the journey, according to the Indian Space Research Organisation.

The agency said that during this mission to the south pole of the moon, the country will send an orbiter, rover and lander.

The space crews are preparing for a launch between July 6 and July 16, the agency said in a Wednesday press release, adding it anticipates a moon landing on Sept. 6.

The mission comes three years ahead of a deadline set by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to send a manned crew to space, according to Bloomberg.

Modi, who announced the $1.4 billion manned mission last year, is seeking a second term, the site reported.
