A rape victim in India who was set on fire on her way to testify against her attackers has died.
The 23-year-old’s death prompted protests from opposition leaders who blamed the ruling party for failing to stop violence against women, Reuters reported.
The unidentified woman was beaten up, stabbed, and burned over 90 percent of her body after being attacked in Unnao while on her way to court, according to India Today.
She walked more than half a mile to seek help — and was still partially ablaze when local villagers found her, according to the report.
