This fairy tale had a dark side.

The mom and dad accused of starving their 13 kids and keeping some chained up inside their California home look like fairy godparents in family vacation photos showing them smiling with their kids on Disney trips.

Snaps posted to parents David and Lousie Turpin’s joint Facebook account in 2010, 2011 and 2012 show the then-12-strong clan smiling with Mickey Mouse and posing in front of the park’s iconic castle.

The parents apparently sprang for swag at the theme park’s stores too — the younger girls wore matching pink shirts depicting a character from the Disney television show “Wizards of Waverly Place,” while the older girls are wearing shirts with Mickey and Minnie Mouse hugging. The three boys have matching “Toy Story” T-shirts.

Photos of the trips were posted every few months, but it is unclear how many times the family went to the theme park because they are only wearing two sets of clothes in all the photos. Earlier pictures posted in 2010 and 2011 show them in matching red shirts, while the later photos depict the family in Disney gear.

The trips appear to have come around the same time the family was filing for bankruptcy in 2011.

Tickets to the park were $74 to $80 per person that year, according to the company’s website.

Police arrested David and Louise on Monday after their 17-year-old daughter escaped their Perris, Calif., home and called 911 to alert police that her siblings, ages 2 to 29, were being held captive — some shackled to household furniture.
