ISIS claimed the man who drove through a crowd of pedestrians and fatally stabbed a police officer in London was a “soldier of the Islamic State,” according to reports Thursday.
The British-born attacker mowed down people on the Westminster Bridge on Wednesday and then ran to Parliament, where he stabbed a police officer.
Another officer then shot the armed man, killing him.
Three people were killed in the attack and 29 others injured.
Earlier Thursday, Prime Minister Theresa May said the attacker was once investigated for his extremist links but was not considered a main figure.
She did not identify the man.
