Israeli warplanes struck the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza early Sunday, killing at least 33 people, according to health officials.

Ashraf al-Qidra, a spokesman for the Health Ministry in Hamas-run Gaza, said at least 42 people were wounded in the strike. He said first responders, aided by residents, were searching the rubble for dead or possible survivors.

The camp is located in the evacuation zone where Israel’s military had urged Palestinian civilians in Gaza to seek refuge as it focused its military offensive in the northern areas.

Commercial jet appears to fly over Israel as rockets explode overhead in horrifying video: report

By David Spector

Chilling video appears to show a Boeing 737 passenger jet soar through the sky over Israel as Iron Dome missiles collide with Hamas rockets, producing terrifying explosions overhead, the Sun reports.

The plane is believed to be an El Al flight headed to Tel Aviv from Tbilisi, Georgia.

Rocket sirens blare in the background as two explosions are seen above the commercial jet.

Over 7,000 rockets have been launched at Israel since Hamas perpetrated the worst attack on the Jewish homeland in 50 years.

Some 1,400 Israelis have been killed with over 240 hostages taken and thousands injured.

Israel will take ‘overall security responsibility’ for Gaza for ‘indefinite period’ after war, Netanyahu says

By Victor Nava

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that the Jewish state will be responsible for the “overall security” of the Gaza Strip for an “indefinite period” after the country’s war against Hamas ends.

Netanyahu, 74, hinted at his vision for the future of the Palestinian-controlled territory during an interview on ABC News’ “World News Tonight with David Muir,” where he explained that Gaza should only be led by “those who don’t want to continue the way of Hamas.”

“I think Israel will, for an indefinite period, will have the overall security responsibility because we’ve seen what happens when we don’t have it,” the prime minister said. “When we don’t have that security responsibility, what we have is the eruption of Hamas terror on a scale that we couldn’t imagine.”

President Biden told CBS’s “60 Minutes” last month that Israel occupying Gaza would be a “big mistake,” arguing that “there needs to be a Palestinian authority” in charge that would lead to a “Palestinian state.”

Video shows UPenn rallygoer speak fondly of ‘glorious Oct. 7’ at pro-Palestinian rally

By Allie Griffin

A reported University of Pennsylvania student said she felt “so empowered and happy” that Palestinian independence felt within reach on the same day Hamas militants invaded Israel and slaughtered 1,400 people, mostly civilians, according to a video.

The clip, circulating online and reshared by Bronx Rep. Ritchie Torres, shows the back of a woman — reportedly a junior at the Ivy League college — draped in a keffiyeh as she passionately speaks into a microphone to a crowd of people at a pro-Palestinian rally in Philadelphia.

She asked the rally-goers to remember the photo of Palestinians bulldozing the barb-wired fence between Israel and Gaza as well as other “joyful and powerful images which came from the glorious October 7th” — when bloodthirsty Hamas terrorists crossed the border into Israel and shot and killed dozens of families in their homes and hundreds of young people at a music festival.

She asked the cheering crowd to hold the images in their minds and remember how they felt when they first saw images and heard the news.

Cooper Union alumni threaten to end donations over school’s response to anti-Israel protestors

By Priscilla DeGregory and Alex Oliveira

Over 300 Cooper Union alumni are threatening to cut donations to the university over its response to an anti-Israel demonstration that left a group of Jewish students cornered inside a campus library in fear for their safety.

The graduates made the funding threat in a scathing Nov. 2 letter to Cooper Union that accused the school of being “more concerned with avoiding a scandal than protecting its Jewish students.”

The letter alleged Cooper Union’s director of campus safety of advising the NYPD not to enter the school library during the Oct. 25 protest, even as students made repeated 911 calls as anti-Israel demonstrators banged on the closed doors and yelled anti-Israeli chants in the wake of Hamas’ October 7 attack on the Jewish nation.

“It’s unbelievable that a rowdy mob intimidating Jews was not the scandal you feared, nor took action against. Instead, you put students in harm’s way to prevent the PR nightmare of uniformed officers escorting the protesters away from the building,” the letter read.

Israeli army cuts off northern Gaza as ground troops prepare to invade

By Jesse O’Neill

The Israeli army cut off northern Gaza from the rest of the besieged enclave on Monday and continued bombarding the territory with air attacks as ground forces prepared to invade densely populated Gaza City.

The Israel Defense Forces said airstrikes had destroyed 450 Hamas targets and Israeli soldiers had taken control of a military compound in an escalation of its war on the terror group nearly a month after Hamas’ monstrous attack that killed more than 1,400.

Gaza health officials said that more than 10,000 Palestinians had been killed in the offensive, without distinguishing fatalities between civilians and militants.

An additional 2,300 people were said to be missing and believed to be buried under debris.

“We’re closing in on them,” said Lt. Col. Richard Hecht, an Israeli military spokesman. “We’ve completed our encirclement, separating Hamas strongholds in the north from the south.”

Families of Hamas hostages share heartbreaking stories as war marks grim milestone

By Ronny Reyes

Hundreds of hostages are still being held captive by Hamas as the war reaches a grim milestone Tuesday — marking one month since the Iran-backed terrorists invaded Israel and slaughtered 1,400 people.

As the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) prepare to invade Gaza in an all-out assault to eradicate the bloodthirsty terror group and free the 240 hostages, the families of the kidnapped are left desperately praying for their safe return.

Optimistic that their families would be made whole again, several loved ones spoke with The Post about how their relatives enjoyed their daily lives in Israel before they were taken by Hamas fighters and their world was upended.

The hostages include a number-crunching matriarch and her three rambunctious children, a Maroon 5 fan serving in the IDF, a US-Israeli mental health teacher and her music-loving husband, and an Argentina-Israeli couple who had family visit for the holidays.

Biden, Netanyahu don't agree on need for 'humanitarian pause' amid Gaza offensive

By Associated Press

WASHINGTON – President Biden did not reach an agreement during his call Monday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the need for a humanitarian pause in the Israel-Hamas war.

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said the US would “continue to advocate for temporary, localized pauses in the fighting.”

The Palestinian death toll in the Israel-Hamas war has surpassed 10,000, including more than 4,100 children and 2,640 women, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza.

Asked whether the toll gave the US pause for its staunch support for Israel, Kirby said, “I think we all need to remember who they’re fighting,” and referenced Hamas’ Oct. 7 incursion into Israel that killed 1,400 people and started the war.

He insisted “no country” would tolerate such an attack “without a swift and aggressive response,” but said the US was having “frank” conversations with Israel about trying to reduce the civilian death toll.

Firefighters from Miami Beach head to Israel to help in war effort

By Associated Press

Eight firefighters are leaving the United States for Israel to help fill in for Israeli firefighters who have been called up to serve in the IDF.

The firefighters from Miami Beach, Florida, say it is the first city-sanctioned such mission in the US.

Capt. Adonis Garcia, the union president who came up with the idea for this mission, says most of the volunteers heading to Israel today are not Jewish.

Garcia says about a quarter of Israel’s firefighters have been called up since Hamas’ murderous October 7 rampage in southern Israel.

Garcia and others have served before in natural disasters, including Haiti’s devastating 2010 earthquake. But city officials say it is the first time they have been authorized to go to a war zone.
