Blinken meets with Qatari prime minister, Lebanon's caretaker prime minister
By Richard PollinaUS Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Saturday in the Jordanian capital of Amman, as the US diplomat has a full day of meetings with members of the Arab nations.
The two shook hands in a brief photo op before the meeting began.
Qatar has served as the key negotiator in discussions with Hamas terrorists as the war in Israel nears a month.


On Friday, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry stated that Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, along with prime ministers from the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Egypt, and the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization would also meet with Blinken to discuss possibilities of de-escalation in the region.
The diplomats will also be discussing ways to manage the humanitarian crisis running rampant in the Gaza Strip.
