Italian police showed off how they used a drone to help three officers track down a lockdown scofflaw sunning himself on an otherwise deserted beach.

The unidentified beach-goer was caught by the drone flying above the beach in Rimini, with footage seemingly showing no one else for miles.

Shirtless and wearing blue pants, he appeared relaxed as the drone filmed two officers on quad bikes and a third in a police van driving through the deserted sands to confront him.

But he raised his head with visible shock as the cops started to lecture him, with an officer filmed writing up a ticket, according to the footage, released Friday.

The images were released by town officials to show off the high-tech way cops were dealing with those defying strict lockdown, which forbids using beaches and parks.

But the PR push may have backfired, with many commentators saying the get-tough effort went too far — with one even calling the officers “dictators,” according to the Sun.

Italy has long been Europe’s worst victim of the coronavirus pandemic. While Spain now has more confirmed cases, Italy still has more deaths, with 24,648 as of Wednesday.
