The pilot who survived the crash of the Virgin Galatic space plane says he managed to flash a thumbs-up to colleagues as he parachuted into the Mojave Desert, according to reports.
Peter Siebold’s dad visited the brave pilot Saturday at his California home, and quoted him saying that he blacked out during his 10-mile descent, but “I must have come to during the fall,” Britain’s Daily Mail reported.
“I remember waving to the chase plane and giving them the thumbs-up [as he dangled from a parachute] to tell them I was OK . . . “It’s a miracle I survived.’’
The Oct. 31 crash killed his close friend and co-pilot, Mike Alsbury.
