Mel Brooks has a good reason to party. He celebrated earning AFI’s Life Achievement Award with a throng of Hollywood A-listers Thursday.

Brooks, 86, got a standing ovation at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

“That’s enough praise,” he told the crowd. “This is nearly an important occasion.”
